Liz and our co-founder Dr. Robin De Luca-Acconi presented at the Long Island School Social Workers’ Conference — organized by Robin and sponsored by Stony Brook School of Social Work, NYS School Social Workers’ Association, and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital CARE Initiative.
We had a powerful panel discussion devoted to supporting immigrant students.
The panel was both practical and inspiring. Then there was a second session of workshops, where we presented on building community. We love working with social workers.
Many of us can go through our days thinking that things are ok—but social workers are called to work with, support, and uphold the dignity of people who are negatively impacted by institutions and policy choices. It was wonderful to have the chance to share our work and offer our support to those who do so much to support others.
