February 2018: Building Bridges of Brookhaven and Boys and Girls Club of Bellport, Bellport, NY, “Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.” In this full day of learning and service, What Better Looks Like participated on a panel discussion about the ways in which Dr. King influenced our lives and our work. We also presented a workshop with Dr. Abena Asare, Assistant Professor of Modern African Affairs at Stonybrook, and Vivett Dukes, educator and co-founder of Speak Ya Truth. It was focused on steps we still need to take to realize the goal of The Beloved Community.
